Q. How big is a Portable Storage box
A: Our storage boxes come in 3 sizes.  A 5m3, 10m3 and a 12m3.  5m3 are great for boxes and smaller items. 10m3 will approximately hold items from a 1 bedroom unit, a 12m3 will approximately hold items from a 1 to 2 bedroom unit. The outside dimensions of the 10m3 are 1.8m wide X 2.4m long X 2.3m high. Internal 1.78m Wide x 2.36m Long x 2.24m High.  The outside dimensions of the 12m3 are 1.8m wide X 3m long X 2.3 high.  Internal 1.78m wide X 2.8m long X 2.24 high

Q. How much does a Portable Storage box cost?
A: The cost is 10m3 for $4.25 per day with a minimum of $129.00 (one month rental) or 12m3 for $5.22 per day with a minimum of $159.00 (one month rental). Please contact us for a price on multiple and long term Storage Boxes  We can also accommodate you with the service of bringing the Portable Storage box to your door for you to pack.  The cost for delivery is based on how long you store.  Please contact us direct for pricing.  We can HELP you pack the storage box if needed. Q. Can you deliver the storage box to my door
A: We use a ute and trailer to deliver the Portable Storage box to your home.  In most circumstances we can get it close to your loading area.  If you have a very narrow drive or very steep drive or overhanging trees, there is sometimes the chance that we may have to park on the side of the road to load the Portable Storage box.  Using our trolleys that we can supply you with, helps keep the job easy while you load the Portable Storage box and it is fully lockable with a padlock.  Our trailer comes with a wheel lock and ball lock to prevent theft.

Q. How can I book my Portable Storage box
A: You can use our online booking form or you can give one of our friendly staff a call and we will be happy to help organise a Portable Storage Box to be delivered.  If you would like to have a box delivered, there is an $80 booking fee.  This covers the cost of your box delivery.  If you would like to bring your items to our warehouse to pack, there is a $40 booking fee. This will be taken off your first months storage fee.

Q. How will I load my Portable Storage box?
A: This is very simple and hassle free. You have 24 hours to fill your box.  Where possible we can leave the box and the trailer and provide a ramp.  We can even help you fill your box.  Just roll up the waterproof cover and open the door. Lock the box when you’re done.  It’s that simple.

Q. How safe is a Portable Storage box?
A: Our Storage boxes are incredibly safe. As our boxes are made out of wood and placed inside they will not sweat.  There will be no moisture build up so no chances of items getting mould and mildew build up.  While it is parked at your home the trailer is fitted with a wheel clamp and a tow ball theft prevention lock.  You put the padlock on the storage box and you lock it. You are the only one with a key to the padlock. Once you have packed and locked your Storage Box we will pick it up and take it back to our secure facility monitored with CCTV camera’s 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Q. What areas do you service for delivery?
A: We service the Bay of Plenty area, Urban Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Papamoa area. There is a small travel charge outside our service area.  Please contact us if you are outside the service area for a quote.

Q. Can I get a quote before committing to a Portable Storage box?
A: Absolutely. You can speak to one of our friendly staff and they will happily walk you through our pricing guide and present you with a quote.

Q. How long can I have the Portable Storage Box to pack it?
A: You can have the box for 24 hours, after that we will collect it and safely store it for you. If you need more time, just give us a ring.  There may be a small charge for extra days.

Q. How will I be charged?
A: You will be charged one month in advance from the date you store your Portable Storage Box. Your next months payment must be paid on the anniversary date the following month. There is always a minimum payment of one months storage fee, payments can be set up monthly, fortnightly or weekly thereafter. We require 7 days cancellation notice.  Your bond will be returned once the Portable Storage Box is cleaned and returned back to our facility.

Q. What if I need to get something out of my Portable Storage box?
A: No problem at all. We just need a minimum of 24 hours notice so we can retrieve your Portable Storage Box. Then you can come to our facility during our business hours. Once you are finished we will happily put it back. Weekend or more frequent visits may incur a fee of $25 per hour and per visit.  If a scheduled visit to get into your units needs to be cancelled, please give us 24 hours notice.  Failure to give notice may incur a no call no show fee.

Q. Can you deliver the Portable Storage box back to me if I need to take some items out or put more in?
A: Yes we can. There is a fee for this service.  Please ask us for a quote.

Q. My belongings are in several different locations, can you help with this?
A: Yes we can. Please ask for a quote.

Q. Are there items that I can NOT store in my Portable Storage box?
A: Yes there are items that you are prohibited to store. Some of these items include liquids of any kind, flammables, and perishable items. Please see our full detailed list of Prohibited items that you can not store.

Q. Where is Bay Portable Storage Limited located?
A: Our location is central and very easy to access. We are based in Mount Maunganui. We have a large warehouse at 39 Maru Street, Mount Maunganui, off Hewletts Road.

Q. What other services does Bay Portable Storage provide?
A: If you would like help to pack or unpack your Portable Storage box, we can help with this. There is an additional charge for this service. Please advise us if you would like this service when booking your Portable Storage box.  We have blankets and locks for hire and other packing supplies that we can bring when we deliver the portable storage box to you for packing.

Q. Can you help me if I decide I no longer wish to keep my stored items?
A: If you have items that you do not want to put in your Portable Storage box, or you no longer wish to keep your stored items and would prefer to sell them, we can sell these items for you in our associated secondhand shop The Blue Barn, as we have a secondhand dealers license. We can outright buy these items from you or sell them on behalf. Terms and conditions apply. Please contact us for more details.

Q. What if I need more than one Portable Storage box?
A: No problem at all. As soon as your first box is full and locked, we will deliver the second box. We can also deliver several boxes at once if the room is provided. Please call us for multiple and long term box pricing.
